Welcome!

Welcome to Strength for Today, Bright Hope for Tomorrow! My goal, and the purpose of this blog, is to encourage young women in their daily life and their walk with God. The wonderful hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness, which contains the line “Strength for today, bright hope for tomorrow”, has become a favorite of mine as God has given me strength each day to follow Him, and the bright hope for both my earthly future and eternity in Heaven. As Christ brings me strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, I hope you find it as well. Great is HIS faithfulness!

Two Cups

“Christ drank the cup of wrath so that we could drink the cup of remembrance.”

Tonight is the night Jesus had what we call the last supper. At that last meal He had before going to the cross, Jesus passed around some bread to His disciples and said “This is My body”. He then passed around a cup of wine saying, “This is my blood, poured out for forgiveness of sins.” That night, Christ instituted communion. Later that evening, Jesus prayed to His Father asking Him to take the cup of His wrath from Him. However, Jesus held onto the cup and went to the cross. Today, we partake of communion to remind us of the sacrifice Christ paid so we could have our sins forgiven.
